Media Owls NAWBO-SV Member Form

Dear NAWBO-SV Members,

Media Owls often receives inquiries from press looking for qualified spokespeople to comment on current issues or provide advice and opinions. We’d like to be able to offer NAWBO-SV members whenever possible. Having members included in news stories showcases the organization’s diverse, accomplished professionals, increases NAWBO-SV’s community profile and can help attract new members and sponsors, among other benefits.

Here are some actual examples of press queries we’ve run across today:

  1. Need: Experts to discuss the mixed messages women get when they dress for work
  2. How do you project your thoughts confidently and succinctly at meetings?
  3. Looking for small-business owners who have successfully launched a venture in the last year or two, despite the very challenging economy.

If you would like to be considered as a news resource, fill out the below form. In the event we find a relevant opportunity, we will provide the reporter your name, title, contact info & a brief summary of why you are a good candidate for the particular piece. Media Owls will always keep you informed of any press interaction and only use information you have approved in advance.

Our sole request -- in a resultant press interview, you mention NAWBO-SV if there is a pertinent opening to do so. For example, say a business publication is writing about SMB customer retention and needs CEOs to comment on the topic. We offer a NAWBO-SV member who owns a consumer goods company. When she speaks to that reporter, she could mention how regular networking with other business owners at NAWBO-SV has proven helpful or cite an example of NAWBO event that provided new insight. Of course, there may not be an opportunity to bring up NAWBO in your press encounter but we ask that you keep this in mind.

Also, any of you who are or have been featured or quoted in the news, join our NAWBO-Silicon Valley Facebook community (“LIKE”) and post the link. Please also “Suggest” the FB page to your broader network. NAWBO-SV is also on Twitter so be sure to Follow us there, too.
