Neatly tucked away in the rolling hills of Livermore Valley Wine Country lies one of the hidden jewels of the East Bay. Poppy Ridge Golf Course is located just forty minutes east of San Francisco. Designed by Rees Jones, the 27-hole Scottish Heathland golf course has three nines: Merlot, Chardonnay and Zinfandel, and can accommodate up to 216 players for corporate and fundraising golf tournaments. The practice area includes a 30-stall grass driving range, three practice greens, chipping area, and bunker area. All golf cars have GPS.
Poppy Ridge Golf Course has a full service golf shop with a variety of the latest equipment technology and Men’s and Ladies fashion merchandise. The mission style clubhouse and restaurant offers spectacular views overlooking the Livermore Valley Wine Country, a perfect setting for a corporate meeting or banquet. Zagat’s Survey rated Poppy Ridge Golf Course as one of the top 15 courses in the United States for best value. Poppy Ridge was also awarded the distinction of “Best Golf Course” by the readers of the Tri Valley Magazine, Awards of Excellence.

Personal Bio
Jan Ahlman has had a very diverse career that has resulted in developing skills and experience in a wide variety of positions. Her educational background was in the field of archaeology and she worked as an archaeolgist for the U.S. Forest Service after college. After traveling to Europe, her next career was as a Park Ranger for 14 years. It wasn’t until her mid-life that she discovered her true passion—sales and marketing—and has been in the hospitatlity industry for over 15 years. She has been with Poppy Ridge Golf Course since 2004 and has been focusing on teaching women how to use golf as a business tool.
