PANELIST BIOS
Dr. Cheemin Bo-Linn, recognized as an innovative hi-tech leader, specializes in strategic engagements which deliver high impact business and marketing solutions tied to accelerated profit growth. She is CEO of Peritus Partners, Inc. and leads the Hi-Technology and Clean Tech Practice. She is also a Partner with SiVal Advisors and a venture advisor, focused on green tech efficiencies, infrastructure, and Mergers and Acquisitions. Dr. Bo-Linn continues to be active in government policy and a strong advocate of increasing companies’ access to capital for global energy investments.
Prior, Bo-Linn held senior leadership positions including Co-Founder, Chief Marketing Executive, and CEO at start-ups. She has also held several senior executive roles at Fortune 100 global companies including IBM Vice-President where she had responsibility for services and integrated hardware/software solutions. Dr. Bo-Linn has been invited to be the keynote speaker at the United Nations GreenTech Conference, IEEE, and other industry and academic/research institutions including Stanford University. Dr. Bo-Linn was selected to be the Chief Mentor for the 2008 California Clean Tech Open and such efforts resulted in the portfolio clean tech company receiving both the prestigious CCTO Award and Sustainability Award.
Brad Rock is a partner at DLA Piper, with a focus on advising Clean Tech companies. He concentrates in mergers and acquisitions; corporate securities, venture financings, and public offerings; public company securities law compliance; and software and hardware licensing and distribution. Brad has a J.D., University of California at Berkeley and prior to that an A.B., Princeton University in Economics.
Derrick Lee is a Vice President in the Menlo Park office and focuses primarily on cleantech and semiconductor investments. He spent a year with BVP China in Shanghai developing that practice during 2006-2007. Derrick serves on the board of Summit Microelectronics and previously served on the board of BA Systems. He is a board observer with Berkeley Design Automation, Exclara, Miasole, PowerGenix, and Therative. Derrick is also involved with Bessemer's investments in Avnera, ChinaEDU (Nasdaq: CEDU), ColorChip, PA Semi (acquired by Apple), Siano Mobile Silicon, and Tilera.
Derrick graduated with an MBA degree from Harvard Business School. He earned an MSEE degree from Stanford University, where he was awarded a School of Engineering Fellowship. He also holds a BSEE degree with Highest Distinction from the University of Virginia.
