After a 45 minute open networking segment, Monika Miles, Programs Director, opened the meeting with chapter announcements.

Website Director, Robin Fisher, followed with a short presentation highlighting the many benefits available to members on the recently launched NAWBO website.

Speaker Ed Correia delivered a comprehensive outline for preparing business computer networks for disaster recovery.

How Should You Be Protected?

  • Balance exposure and cost.
  • Set up Security Zones - Firewalls
  • Backup your data using Data Mirroring, CD & DVDs, External Hard Disks, Internet Backups, and for larger businesses, tape backup.
  • Create multiple layers of protection.
  • Periodic check-ups. Test your system!
  • Automate the backup system wherever possible.
