NAWBO-SV members were treated to a two-part hands on Media Training Seminar given by Norman Bell from the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal and Ryan Donovan, Dave Vossbrink, and Nick Kenig from the Public Relations Society of America, Silicon Valley Chapter.

Norman Bell outlined how to increase your company’s visibility and build credibility as an integral part of a successful marketing program. He delivered the formula for successfully pitching your story to the media…whether it is the Business Journal, the daily newspaper, television or radio and how this can impact your bottom line. He answered the following questions:

  • Is your story or idea truly newsworthy?
  • Have you identified your audience?
  • What about an angle?
  • Hear from the inside why certain stories get coverage and others do not
  • Find out how to locate the right reporter for your story

PRSA members Ryan Donovan, Dave Vossbrink, and Nick Kenig covered the following topics: Taking Your Media Savvy for a Test Drive and Role Playing to Enhance Your Media Skills.

Their was a robust Q&A session following the presentations.
