Karen Mathews spoke on how we all use our personal style of influence in every situation we engage in. Through humor, story telling and contrasting different styles, Karen made her point of using influence purposefully in business to achieve the results we want. She shared a secret convincer strategy with the audience, advising them to change their personal strategy of influence to:

• Create an environment that is conducive to getting desired outcomes.
• Manage other’s perceptions of you.
• Learn to create the circumstances to have others be more open to you.
• Learn how to create a connection with others, even when you have only 3 minutes.
• Minimize occurrences of disagreement and struggle in business interactions.

Speaker Bio
Karen Mathews career in Management spanned twenty-nine years in the Aerospace and Communications Satellite industry. During that time, she influenced, educated and inspired employees in a wide variety of situations and settings. In an arena influenced by politics, global relations, and technology, Mathews has led expanding and downsizing organizations, in crisis and deeply challenged, to great acclaim.

Mathews, as a seasoned and approachable leader, brings solid solutions and real world scenarios to her consulting and educational practice. She has been called on as a keynote speaker, leadership consultant and workshop provider for a variety of public and private organizations. She is also an Instructor in the Management Training Program offered by UC Santa Cruz Extension and sits on the Board of Directors for NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners).
