Speaker Bios


Stephanie Jones is a career banker with over 31 years of banking experience at Wells Fargo Bank. Her current position is the Area Region Business Banking Manager for the San Jose Greater Bay Division, where she overseas the management of two teams of Business Relationship Managers who specialize in working with small business owners with annual revenues of $2 million - $30 million. Prior to her current role, Stephanie was recruited to the San Jose Market for the Business Banking Manager position to expand the development of a team of Business Relationship Managers. With over 8 years of experience working to assist small business owners from Business Development Officer, Managing a Business Center to Senior Business Relationship Manager, Stephanie has gained extensive expertise in commercial lending and other related financial services. A rare breed in banking who can still say, “I started out as a teller,” Stephanie continues to be a highly respected leader not only within Wells Fargo Bank, but with clients, and the community.

Her community service work has included active organizing and participation in many Wells Fargo community events from teaching Junior Achievement classes, working on Habitat for Humanity Home projects, and supporting Food Bank and other non profit organization events. She was a former Advisory Board Member for the Oakland Women’s Initiative Group, Week of Caring Coordinator for several years in a row at Wells Fargo, and former Board Member on the Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Center. Stephanie is frequently asked to speak on behalf of Wells Fargo Business Banking at many community based events and seminars.

Joan Young has been assisting buyers and sellers in small businesses since 1980. Her diverse business experience ranges from manufacturing and distribution to retail, publishing, advertising, placement services, direct sales, and business and franchise consulting. Committed to strong work ethics, Joan focuses on integrity and professionalism. Her goal is to achieve the desired results for both sellers and buyers. “Win-Win” best describes Joan’s approach to all of her transactions.

In 1980, Joan co-founded a national franchise company and owned two franchises herself. She has been VP for three national franchise companies, and in 1990 started FRANNET of the Bay Area, Inc. (FRANNET is the largest franchise consulting group in North America). Joan has had the distinction of owning one of the top FRANNET offices, and was named “Franchise Consultant of the Year” four times since she began. In 2000, Joan acquired SUNBELT BUSINESS ADVISORS, Greater Bay Area, which is part of the largest business brokerage/intermediary firm in the world. Sunbelt has over 300 offices worldwide with over 30 offices within California.

Joan is a member of the California Association of Business Brokers (CABB), has served on their board of directors, and holds the Certified Business Broker (CBB®) designation. She also belongs to the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) wherein she has been awarded the prestigious and coveted Certified Business Intermediary (CBI®) designation and has served on the President’s Advisory Council for Sunbelt Business Advisors Network.
