Call for 2008 NAWBO-SV Member Award Nominations

On June 17 and 18, 2008, NAWBO-SV will be presenting the awards outlined below. We need your nominations by May 14, 2008.

These special awards allow us to recognize NAWBO Silicon Valley members who have contributed to the advancement of women in business.

It will only take a few minutes and we would like to get a response from all NAWBO members so that everyone who should be considered for these wonderful honors is given a chance to be recognized.

Awards are an important part of the business owner’s biography. Take this opportunity and nominate your NAWBO Peers.

Award Details

Enterprising Woman of the Year Award 2008

This award will be presented on June 18, 2008, in conjunction with the San Jose Business Journal’s Top 50 Women event and recognizes a well-rounded, balanced, and contributing member of both the business and larger community.

Active, voting member of NAWBO-SV chapter
10+ years successfully owning and running her own business
Actively involved in the day-to-day business operations, deriving her main livelihood from this business
Community involvement
Inspires others
Goes above and beyond what’s expected

Business of the Year Award 2008

This award will be presented on June 17, 2008, in conjunction with the NAWBO-SV Member Appreciation Reception. The award recognizes a businesswoman who has overcome significant challenges (either professional or personal) to succeed and inspire others.

Active voting member of NAWBO-SV chapter
At least 5 years owning and running her own business
Actively involved in the day-to-day business operations, deriving her main livelihood from this business
Overcame significant challenges
Demonstrates resilience, strength and fortitude

Member of the Year Award 2008

This award will be presented on June 17, 2008, in conjunction with the NAWBO-SV Member Appreciation Reception. It recognizes the outstanding member who had contributed significantly to the NAWBO-SV chapter over the past several years.

Active voting member of NAWBO-SV chapter
At least 5 years owning and running her own business
Actively involved in the day-to-day business operations, deriving her main livelihood from this business
