Liz Greenfield is the founder of Elizabeth Greenfield Functional Wellness (EGFW), a precision functional medicine practice based in San Jose, California, focused on helping women navigate perimenopause and menopause with clarity instead of confusion. Her approach centers on advanced functional medicine lab testing, going far beyond a standard panel to uncover the full picture of what’s happening hormonally, metabolically, and at the cellular level, so that care is built on real data rather than guesswork.

Liz brings 25 years of clinical medicine to this work, including 15 years as a CRNA at Kaiser Santa Clara before she left conventional healthcare to build something more personalized. She holds an MS in the Science of Anesthesia from Albany Medical College, is a Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner (IFMCP), and is a certified HeartMath instructor. At the core of her work is a simple belief: nothing is wrong in the body, it is simply asking for something different, and her job is to help women learn to listen and respond with the right information.

Beyond her clinical work, Liz teaches “Reclaiming Vitality,” a 12-week course at Case Western Reserve University, and speaks nationally on hormonal health and longevity science.

Liz raised two children on her own while building this second career, and that experience shapes how she works with clients: with patience, direct honesty, and a deep respect for how much women are already carrying. Her long-term vision is to grow EGFW into a company that helps more women access this kind of root-cause, data-driven care.

“NAWBO Silicon Valley has given me something I didn’t know I needed as a solo founder: a genuine community of women who understand the specific challenges of building a business from the ground up. The connections I’ve made here have led to real opportunities, but just as valuable has been the encouragement to keep going on the harder days. It’s rare to find a group that combines that level of support with real business substance, particularly throught the Strategic Leap program.”
