Event Expectations and Guidelines
We value the diversity of our members and attendees and foster a respectful environment during our meetings and events. While in attendance, please remember to:
- Be kind and considerate to everyone in attendance.
- Respect personal space and common courtesy rules for personal interaction.
- Be mindful of others around you to ensure a great experience for your fellow participants.
- Behave and dress professionally and appropriately.
- Consume alcoholic beverages responsibly.
- Follow the host’s instructions to ensure a smooth event.
- Observe the rules and regulations of the venue where the event is being held.
- Refrain from displaying or using any demeaning, harassing, aggressive, or intimidating language, materials or behavior.
Please report inappropriate behavior that makes you or another attendee uncomfortable to one of the Board Members immediately. A list of the current Board of Directors can be found HERE. NAWBO Silicon Valley will take immediate action if any of these are dishonored and follow the procedure established in our code of conduct to ensure a safe and pleasant time for everyone.
Accommodations Requests:
In consideration to a breathing disability present, at this time we cannot accommodate animals of any kind in our indoor venues. Dietary restrictions and other reasonable special accommodations requests must be submitted in advance and in writing to info@nawbo-sv.org. We try our best to make our meetings accessible but cannot guarantee all accommodations requested.

Photos and Videos at a NAWBO Silicon Valley Event
When you participate in an event or program, you enter an area where photography, audio, and video recording may occur. By entering the event premises, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by NAWBO as well as NAWBO Silicon Valley and its representatives.
Images, photos and/or videos may be used to promote similar NAWBO events in the future, highlight the event and exhibit the capabilities of NAWBO. You release NAWBO, its officers and employees, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication and use of interviews, photographs, computer images, video and/or sound recordings.
By entering the event premises, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any use, exhibition, streaming, web casting, televising, or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such use, exhibiting, broadcasting, web casting, or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged.
You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by NAWBO or the person or entity designated to do so by NAWBO. You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release before entering the event.
