Gillian Chao is the new owner of Flutter Eyewear, taking the helm upon founder Patti Lee-Hoffmann’s retirement. Flutter reading glasses bring elegant clarity to any fine task. Our own collection of elegant reading glasses and reading sunglasses is especially designed for beauty, quality, and comfort. Not your mother’s readers. We provide personal fittings for our clients at trunk shows to help them discover the frame shapes and colors that best complement their faces.
Gillian’s sales career started at a bookstore, so perhaps it is fitting that she is now working with reading glasses. After graduating from Stanford University with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Human Biology, her career has spanned from knife salesperson and jewelry stylist to health care consultant and contract negotiator.
These days, she looks for what will spark joy in her work. Gillian loves that moment of excitement and delight when she helps a client find the perfect pair of glasses. Gillian also volunteers her time working with dogs at the Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA and with the goats at City Grazing. She is a cheesemaker and an avid knitter and crocheter. She lives with her husband and dogs in the San Francisco area.
